I started doing this work as a canvasser way back in the day. When I applied for the job in 2004, I had no idea I’d be at it all these years later. In fact, I was planning on working for a few months, then driving my 1992 Ford Ranger from Texas to Argentina…obviously a great plan that didn’t happen. Instead, I’ve been doing my damnedest to empower communities and fight polluters ever since.

Central to that work has been the field outreach that our dedicated staff engages in every day. As the pandemic has made all too clear over the course of the last 17 months, canvassing is still the best way to meet people where they are and motivate them to make their voices heard. Our canvassers work so hard, and their work is so important to TCE, that getting them back in the field is the single most helpful thing you can do today.
