    Bulletin Board Example

    Description

    This elementary art curriculum includes six art projects, one art lesson per grade level in kindergarten through 5th-grade art classes. Get everything you need to teach 6 art project with art history lessons focused on art in Italy and France. Students learn about love locks, cave paintings, stained glass, mosaics, bronze relief sculptures, insignias, and statues.

    Focusing on drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, and clay artmaking introduce art history in a fun, engaging way.

    The six lesson plans focus on France and Italy.

    • In Kindergarten art classes learn about both countries and learn about love locks, then decorate their own love lock.
    • 1st grade art classes learn about cave paintings in France and create their own version of cave paintings.
    • 2nd grade art students learn about stained glass windows in France and creates paper versions of stained glass.
    • 3rd grade art students learn about mosaics in Italy and create paper mosaics.
    • 4th grade art classes learn about the Gates of Paradise in Italy, and create copper tooled designs.
    • 5th grade art students learn about contrade, or neighborhoods, in Siena, Italy, and create their own neighborhood complete with insignia and clay statues. 

    In addition to the Europe connection across grades, the students are all focusing on storytelling and how to tell something about themselves through a single image.
