A woman who weighs 47st is terrified her husband will leave her - because she can't have sex with him.
The pair haven't been intimate in a long time, and Ashley, 30, from West Hills, California, relies on her husband, Daniel, to help her in her daily life.
Ashley lives with her family, and needs their help to perform everyday tasks including showering and even feeding.
She turned to food to help her through a horrific childhood trauma, but lost control and now tips the scales at 670lb (47st).
And she recognises that her extreme weight could be damaging her marriage .
Ashley said: "It's been such a long time that he's taken care of me that I can't give back.
"I feel disgusted by myself and how could he not feel that for me too?
"It strains my marriage that I can't be romantic with him, that we can't express our love the way we want to.
"But I just don't want him to see me."
"One of my biggest fears is that he is going to wake one day and be like, 'I don't want to do this anymore, I don't want to take care of her like she's a patient."
Daniel said: "We had plans about having a family, but if my wife doesn't lose the weight, all those hopes and dreams are going to be shattered."
I worry I'm not going to wake up tomorrow. I feel like my body can't take it anymore. But if I give up, I'm not going to live to grow old with my husband."
