Muscovy Duck (Cairina moschata)

Muscovy Duck (Cairina moschata)

This is the largest duck species in the wild for Suriname. They are very distinctive and therefore unmistakable to be identified. Like most ducks, this species feeds on plant material and invertebrates from waterbodies, where it thrives.
