Officine Fioravanti has announced it’s working on turning the classic Ferrari Testarossa into an actual 200 mph supercar, with a camouflaged test car surfacing online a few days earlier, and now we have more details to share.

The Swiss-based company has been developing its Testarossa “enhancement program” for the last 14 months. Contrary to other high-end restomods, Officine Fioravanti also opted to leave the Pininfarina-styled body of the iconic Testarossa untouched “as there is no reason to teach a Maestro one more lesson”.

The biggest exterior difference is the size of the five-spoke star alloy wheels, which are now larger in diameter in order to fit stronger Brembo GT3-Class racing brakes behind them and be able to mount a modern performance tire. The company also mentions modifications in aerodynamics, as well as a curb weight reduction of 264 lbs (120 kg), without going into details just yet.

The stock suspension has also been replaced with a set of trick Öhlins electronically-controlled dampers, and adjustable anti-roll bars to sharpen up the handling of the Italian icon. The company added a 12-way adjustable ABS and traction control system too.

As for the engine, Officine Fioravanti rebuilt the 4.9-liter 180-degree V12 to unlock more power and charisma from it. The engine now spins up to 9,000 rpm, featuring new internals and a new titanium exhaust system while being commanded by a “race-derived ECU”. The final power output figures will be announced at the model’s full reveal.

Finally, the interior of OF’s Testarossa has been upholstered in hand-stitched Italian leather, with the company saying that “the quality perceived in the cockpit has been considerably improved” thanks to the replacement of the original plastic trim components with new ones machined out of aluminum. The interior revisions also include a high-end audio system with “retro-tech” features.

“This is not just a restomod, we brought future into the past, setting a new benchmark in the field”, said Officine Fioravanti. The company will reveal its take on the Ferrari Testarossa in June, so stay tuned.
