Emma Bunton to host the US version of Bake Off

Spice Girl Emma Bunton is the new presenter of the US version of The Great British Bake Off.

The Great American Baking Show will return to TV in the US later this year with Paul Hollywood returning as judge.

Baby Spice said it was her "dream job. Christmas time, eating cake and having such a brilliant time with Spice, Sherry and Paul."

Sherry Yard will join as a judge and Bunton will co-host with American footballer Anthony 'Spice' Adams.

Bunton revealed on her Heart Radio show, external that she has already started filming for the show - and was very excited.

"Just being in the famous tent - honestly it took me a week to get used to being in the tent," she said.

Bunton added that working with Hollywood was "great fun".

"I had lots of fun with Paul. He's got a great sense of humour. I did watch out for him [though, as] he can be trouble. He's got those eyes. Don't look in his eyes!"

The Great American Baking Show was pulled off air last year after allegations of sexual harassment, external surrounding judge Johnny Iuzzini.

The pastry chef, who denied the allegations, had been a judge in all three series of the show, which aired on ABC.

He appeared alongside Mary Berry in the first two series and Paul Hollywood in series three.

The programme is made by Love Productions, who also make Channel 4's Great British Bake Off.

Last summer Bunton was a judge on the ABC talent show Boy Band.

But she said moving to cover baking for US TV has meant a bit of translation of terminology.

"There was this whole biscuit week and I was like it was 'it's biscuit week' and they were 'oh no, it's cookie week' and I was like, 'Hang on, I'm the expert in biscuits.'"

And she said unlike the British version she didn't hold back when it came to trying out the bakes.

"I think everyone else on British Bake Off doesn't eat too much - that's what all the producers were saying and then I'm like, 'Can you put that in my trailer please I'll eat that later'. I'm a little piglet."
