www.ArtPal.com/ArtistMaritimeI am a retired merchant marine officer, Master Mariner and Ship Master (Captain). I have always ever since I was kid taken pleasure in sketching and drawing and lately I have taken it up again. Each and every time I manage to put together something I find it fun and very gratifying. I lived in a South American country for some 40 years among people with a large variation in appearance and I became very attached to them. I now live in the northern part of Sweden, almost in the Arctic.
I am now trying to share what I make and the hope is that some people appreciate what I do to such an extent that they want have it for perhaps decorating a living, bedroom or perhaps to make dreary office a bit more lively.
A number of items are perhaps not ”safe for work and children” as it shows nude or scanty dressed females. But I would think that only racially bigoted persons or biased bible people can have anything against naked beauty, sensuality and a bit of provocation as my nudes shows females apparently proud of how they look. If you don’t like it, then don’t look at it or buy it. I think this is also what Larry Flynt said about his Hustler magazine. If I'm not mistaken a US judge in the bible belt also stated that if a picture gives me an erection when watching it, it is obscene.
Most of what I have made so far is in black China ink and adding some colors. I shall soon start up with pencil and graphite and maybe I can afford to buy gear and paints for trying out oil on canvas.
What is exhibited are some pretty bad photos taken with a mobile phone camera and certainly not showing the truth. On request I can try to provide a better photo on items of interest.
My prices may seem to be on the high side, but there are many hours of sketching and thinking behind what you are looking at. Also I am trying to get a bit of extra to augment my shitty state pension.

Profile photo shows me using a sextant, getting ready for taking the sun at meridian passage for getting a latitude. Sadly many young officers have only some very dim ideas on celestial navigation. Pretty much lost without the GPS and resorting to calling another ship in sight on VHF radio saying "GPS broken, please give me position"
