Como buena mexicana amo los nopales, vivo en una zona cercana a Pittsburgh donde casi no hay mexicanos 💔 y no tengo automóvil para buscar en las tiendas donde hay, así que me sale más barato comprar estos nopales, tardó mucho en llegar bueno mucho para mi fueron unos 15 días, llego justo cuando Amazon anunció al día siguiente podía pedir reembolso, el producto estaba bien viene con espinas, pero ya me he vuelto experta en quitarlas, esté nopal tenía un sabor un poco diferente parece es de otra especie al que siempre compro tiene más acidez, pero bueno igual lo como. Amo tanto los nopales así que sembré uno espero dejar se pedir en un año 😅
I was so excited to be able to order nopales! Since we have moved, we haven’t been able to find fresh nopales in the stores at we used to eat them almost weekly. They arrived already spoiling. They weren’t fresh! When we cooked them, (we had to wait a couple days) so much of the rotten part had to be cut off and all the nodes had to be trimmed because they had turned black. Once they were clean, we prepared them to eat. They had no taste. Huge disappointment!
I loved that the paddles were clean, and no needles. Easy to cut up, prep and put into my soup. very tasty. I didnt have to wait long to get them this time.
These cuttings did not come with any planting instructions, so I researched it thoroughly on the internet, including some very informative YouTube videos on propagating spineless Nopales Paddles. All five of the paddles died in their pots. Very sad. I am not sure why this happened.
The first batch I bought was young and tender, second order not so much. First order lasted over a week in frig, not so much second order. Not sure I’ll order from these guys again.
