The exercise will be conducted in two phases

The exercise is being coordinated by the Tactics & Combat Development Establishment (TACDE), IAF's unit for training in aerial combat.

Began in 2004

The Cope India exercises began in 2004 as a fighter training exercise held at Gwalior AFS and have now returned since the last one which was held in 2018.

First phase commenced on April 10

This phase of the exercise focused on air mobility and involved the transport of aircraft and Special Forces assets from both the Air Forces.
