Bling Bling: Power Wheels G-Wagen Covered in Swarovski Crystals Auctioned
There’s one auto brand that has a reputation for being coated in Swarovski crystals: Mercedes-Benz. To my knowledge, there’s been an SL600, a CLS, and an S-Class, each fully covered in the high-end rhinestones. Mercedes-Benz even put the crystals inside real manufacturer headlights on the S-Class coupe. These are the same Austrian delicacies that stars like Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, and Bérénice Marlohe have chosen to wrap themselves in with luxury crystal dresses. But there’s one model that surprisingly hasn’t been touched… until now: the G-Class.
During a three-month process, more than 70,000 crystals were embedded onto this cute little Power Wheels wagon, and it was all for a good cause. The fancy toy was auctioned off earlier last month as a part of an effort to raise money for Steven Tyler’s foundation Janie’s Fund, which was created to help girls and women who are facing abuse or abandonment.
The work was done by BlingIsTheNewBlack, a company that literally just blings out whatever products you want blinged. It’s hard to think of things in this life that could be possibly more useless than a Swarovski-covered Power Wheels, but hey, it’s for a good cause, right?
