It is named after Miranda, the daughter of the magician Prospero who appears in the tragi-comedy The Tempest by William Shakespeare. Miranda has been approached only once, by the Voyager 2 probe in January 1986. Of all the natural satellites of Uranus, Miranda is the one of which the probe made the best images. 1986. later chromogenic print. Numbering on the front.
