This island has it all, a concentration of everything that the archipelago has to offer: white beaches, dunes, sculpted cliffs, hiking paths and fortifications carved into the rock.
Over its eleven kilometres of coastline, Spargi is extremely accessible, boasting an eastern side fringed with beaches and western and northern shores dotted with fantastic granite coves. All of its beaches are sheltered from the mistral wind except for Cala d’Alga which is exposed to the southwest. The most famous is Cala Corsara, a wide bay dominated by beautiful rock formations lapped by a crystal clear sea. Both beaches can be reached by swimmers (ropes prevent boats from approaching), or you can access them on foot by docking at the small pier located a few meters north of the cove. You can then access the white beaches of Cala Soraya, Cala Granara and Cala Conneri, one after the other. Beautiful beaches which, like Cala Corsara, are always very busy and frequently visited by the boats providing daily excursions. Further north Cala Ferrigno, identifiable by its granite pier, is the ideal place for a hike. A walk of about 45 minutes takes you to the fortifications of Petrajaccio and Punta Zanotto, old military batteries embedded and camouflaged in granite rock. A shorter walk, about 15 minutes, follows a narrow path from Cala Corsara to Cala d’Alga. Spargi is wonderfully wild and there are no structures on the island.
